GMC Canyon
The GMC Canyon is a high-powered midsized truck with a very roomy cabin. It has upgraded infotainment system features including a touchscreen surface that can support apple car play smartphone integration. It is a quicker, more manoeuvrable, and more fuel-efficient option for diesel-heads.
Features
This higher end truck has a massive 369 pound-feet of torque that is impressive from its 181 horsepower coming from its 2.8 litre four cylinder engine. This diesel engine gives the Canyon a smoother ride and a more powerful towing capability of a trailer. The larger 5.3 litre V8 engine is somewhat indistinguishable from the standard V6, and so worth it to consider when you factor in the price differences. Though most of its rivals have one or two competitive advantages here and there, the GMC Canyon towers over its three main rivals in overall performance metrics and functionality.
Performance Metrics
This car comes in single and double cabin options with four models and two bed lengths. The trims are SL, SLE, base Canyon and top-of-the-line SLT. The SL, which is the entry level trim, features a vinyl floor and upholstery covering, front bucket seats, daytime running lights, power windows, 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, and automatic headlights. It also has a rear-view camera and a solid infotainment system. The Canyon, which is the model that comes after the SL, features cloth upholstery, floor mats, and carpeting and comes in both a crew cab body and extended cab styles.
Convenience Package
The Canyon has a convenience package featuring remote keyless entry, EX-Lift tailgate, a rear defrost and cruise control. Its audio system is very comprehensive. The vehicle is also enhanced by an OnStar and a 4G LTE hotspot capacity. It also has a trailering package, a spray-on bed-liner and an automatic rear differential for the V6 models. The SLE version has the convenience package as well as 17-inch alloy wheels, power side mirrors, an overhead console, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi, Apple Car Play smartphone integration, an interlink interface with an 8-inch screen, fog-lights and a host of other unique and exclusive features.
All-Terrain
The SLE also has an All-Terrain package which includes all-terrain tires, off-road oriented suspension, a rear locking differential, heated front seats, four-way passenger seats, hill descent control and many other features. Besides all the standard SLE Convenient and All-Terrain packages, the SLT adds leather upholstery, chrome mirror covers, 18-inch wheels and all-terrain front seat upgrades in terms of heating and power adjustments. The V6 powered GMC canyon can easily be fitted with a dual mode sport exhaust. This is a family friendly car that offers you three engine range options including the 200 horsepower, 2.5 litre inline four cylinder that has 191 pound-feet of torque. When efficiently utilized, this engine can tow up to 3500 pounds. At 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet torque the V6 engine is the second option with a towing capacity of up to 7000 pounds. The SLT and SLE crew cabs have the option of a 181 horsepower 2.8 litre turbo charged four cylinder engine that has a 369 pound-feet torque. This car has a number of safety features including a rear-view camera, trailer sway control, stability control, antilock disc brakes and remote (un)locking systems as well as front collision and lane departure warnings. It is fitted with soft padded interiors and well placed controls and navigation design.
Overview
Overall, the GMC Canyon is a fantastic, roomy option for a family, or for anyone looking for a massively powerful vehicle that can handle comfortably in any environment.
